Natural gas, which has a basic component in the form of methane, is formed from the remains of living things, both plants, and animals, which settle deep under the earth’s crust. The great pressure in the deep layers of the earth and high temperatures make the remnants of this environmental component undergo a natural process that ultimately produces coal, petroleum, and natural gas.

West Java

The land of Sunda, which is close to the center of the Indonesian government, turns out to have the fifth-largest natural gas wealth in the archipelago. The province of West Java, which has a capital city in Bandung, actually stores abundant natural gas in its stomach.

The nickel price is still in a downward trend, why is this happening?

One of the natural gas processing products that are the mainstay of West Java Province is liquefied natural gas (LNG) which is mainly used for the benefit of domestic industries.

Due to the rich potential of natural gas in West Java, the Indonesian government has established PT Nusantara Regas which is the result of a collaboration between PT Pertamina and PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN). In West Java, you can find a liquefied natural gas terminal that was built magnificently to supply natural gas needs in the archipelago. West Java ranks 5th in the list of the 5 largest natural gas producing regions in Indonesia.

Riau islands

Riau is the 4th largest natural gas-producing region owned by Indonesia. This province, which is located on the east coast of Sumatra Island, is not only famous for its charming coastal tourism potential but also has large natural gas reserves to be utilized by the people of Indonesia and the world. The Riau Islands ranks 4th in the list of the largest natural gas-producing countries in Indonesia.

In Riau, the mining and processing of natural gas is carried out by PT Perusahaan Gas Negara, or better known as PGN. Natural gas is indeed one of the most important industrial sectors in Riau, given the province’s abundant natural gas wealth.

West Papua

Mentioning the name of West Papua Province is closely related to the name Tangguh LNG. The center for mining and processing of liquefied natural gas is a large government-owned industry that was built in Bintuni Bay, West Papua Province. West Papua Province has succeeded in becoming 3rd in the list of the 5 largest natural gas producing regions in Indonesia.

Tangguh LNG is a megaproject that is being worked on by the government to exploit the potential of natural gas wealth in Cenderawasih Earth. The Tangguh LNG mining center in West Papua has about 500 billion cubic meters of natural gas reserves from its stomach.

Because of the abundance of natural gas reserves in West Papua, Indonesia is still able to survive as one of the largest natural gas supplying countries in the world.

South Sumatra

The province, which has a capital city in Palembang, is also one of the 5 largest natural gas-producing regions in Indonesia. South Sumatra Province is in second place. Natural gas reserves in South Sumatra Province are very abundant. One of the areas in South Sumatra that is the largest natural gas supplier to Indonesia is Musi Banyuasin Regency.

Indonesian Tin Producers are the Largest Tin Exporters

The abundance of natural gas in Musi Banyuasin Regency is one of the most productive energy hulls in South Sumatra. Although it can be exported abroad and is highly valued by large companies outside Indonesia, the Musi Banyuasin government is committed to supporting the welfare of its citizens first, rather than simply selling its natural gas wealth to foreigners.

In 2016, the Musi Banyasin Regency Government built around 10,000 natural gas pipelines to support the fuel needs of its citizens. As a result of this welfare project, residents in Musi Banyuasin Regency can easily get energy sources for cooking or other necessities.

East Kalimantan

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has confirmed East Kalimantan Province as the largest natural gas producer in Indonesia. One of the most important points in East Kalimantan that stores natural gas wealth is the Mahakam block. East Kalimantan is the first of the 5 largest natural gas-producing regions in Indonesia.

The natural gas mining industry in East Kalimantan supplies essential raw materials for companies that support regional economies such as Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (PKT) and Badak LNG. The abundance of natural gas in East Kalimantan has attracted developed countries such as Japan and France who want environmentally friendly energy sources to support the needs of their population.
